Chair Wanted
Chair Wanted – Elmbridge u3a
After four enjoyable and rewarding years as Chair of Elmbridge u3a, I will be stepping down at the end of my term in accordance with our constitution. We are therefore looking for a member to take on the role of Chair from April 2027.
Elmbridge u3a is a thriving, friendly and active organisation, and the Chair plays an important part in helping to guide and support the continued success of our u3a. The role involves leading committee meetings, helping coordinate activities and events, supporting committee members and volunteers, and acting as an ambassador for the group.
You do not need previous experience as a Chair — what matters most is enthusiasm for Elmbridge u3a, good communication skills, and a willingness to work collaboratively as part of a very supportive committee team.
This is an opportunity to help shape the future of Elmbridge u3a and ensure that it continues to flourish for all our members.
To arrange an informal chat about the role, please contact me via email at chair@elmbridgeu3a.org
We would warmly encourage members to consider putting themselves forward.

Paddle
John Stephens Padel project, announced in April for neuro/physically diverse persons, has proved to be very successful and is now open to new members. He has supplied the details below. Please note this not a u3a group and members would join at their own risk, without u3a insurance coverage. Please contact John direct if interested.
Simple Padel project
Hello fellow u3a members, my Simple Padel project today offers padel sessions to neuro and physically diverse folk. All equipment is supplied.
Padel is best described as a cross between tennis and squash. It is usually played in pairs (2 vs 2) on a court that is one-third the size of a tennis court, with glass walls and metal mesh surrounds.
If you can hold a 350grm padel bat you can play. It’s a simple game, technically the easiest bat and ball sport ever.
We are making fun, exercise, and meeting others who may not have considered Padel before.
If you or any family members or friends are diverse please contact me , we will organise your first session with you in groups of 2 or 3 only. Family supporters are also welcome to come and watch.
AHD, autism, dyslexia, full time carers post-natal depression sufferers, PND, PTSD, alcoholics, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, tourettes, bi-polar, deaf, social anxiety, MS, Parkinsons, Down Syndrome, amputees; just ask..

I have been playing padel for 12 years and coaching padel in Spain for 10 years.
I am a padel nut !!!!!! I just want to share this great game with others.
Please message me directly with any questions .
Thank you
