Introduction to Mind Mental Health Awareness Training

Hello everyone,

I’d like to introduce you to something that I believe could be very helpful for many of us – Mental Health Awareness Training.

As we all know, good mental health is important to people of all ages, and sometimes we may find ourselves supporting a friend, a family member, or even a fellow u3a member who is facing mental health challenges. It’s not always easy to know what to say or how to help, and that’s where this training comes in.

The training - Conversations in the Community - developed by the charity Mind, offers a clear, practical introduction to mental health. It helps you understand common mental health conditions, recognise when someone might be struggling, and feel more confident in offering support or signposting them to the right help. You don’t need any prior experience – just an open mind and a willingness to learn.

Whether you’re concerned about someone close to you or just want to be better prepared in case the situation arises, this training could give you the tools and confidence to make a real difference.

This free course is excellent and can be found at Conversations in the Community
