Roots and Futures: Windows of the Ice (see also Untold Stories) is part of a joint programme with the Riverhouse Barn, Walton.

Discover the remarkable untold stories behind the great Antarctic expedition of Captain Scott. Scott’s final words: ‘For God’s Sake look after our people’ were written as he lay freezing and starving to death on his return from the South Pole. The women he was referring to were thrust into the limelight and forced to grieve in public view. ‘Widows of the Ice’ is the story of the forgotten wives whose love and support helped to shape one of the most iconic moments in British history.
