Home to the 8th Marquess of Bath, the house was the first stately home to open to the public back in 1949.  It was built in 1580 and widely regarded as one of the finest examples of Elizabethan architecture. It now hosts the first drive through safari park outside of Africa, opening in 1966. Our coach will take us to view tigers, lions and elephants etc, with a chance to enjoy a cruise on the safari boat later, gliding past the gorilla colony and friendly sea lions.

On arrival we stop at the cafe to buy refreshments, then enjoy our safari ride, for about an hour or so.  We shan’t visit the monkey enclosures, as the coach company wants its vehicle back in one piece!

After buying lunch we then visit the house for timed entry group guided tours inside and then free time to explore the beautiful formal gardens and enjoy the Capability Brown designed landscapes and the rest of the park.

Cost £52 inc. coach, tip for driver, admission to safari park and guided house tour.

No refreshments included.

The coach will leave at 8am from Xcel Leisure centre and return around 7.15pm (timings to be confirmed).
