About Outside Opportunities

Outside Opportunities are defined as organisations or groups which offer long-term benefits to Elmbridge u3a members. They are not advertised in the Magazine but are instead separately promoted on our website. These groups will not be covered by u3a insurance.

An outside organisation or group may or may not be led by a member of Eu3a. In either case, if the group includes non-u3a members, it might also be considered as acceptable if it fulfils the qualifications below.

To qualify for inclusion, such outside organisations or groups must:

* Offer a permanent benefit (not a one-off item such as a reduced ticket price for an event).

* Offer the opportunity for our members to join an organisation or group where they can participate in regular activities.

* Offer our members a benefit that would normally be financial but could be something else.

Proposals will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Approved organisations or groups would be required to re-apply to remain on the list (while confirming their offer) at the start of each year. 

Outside Opportunities will be listed on our website’s Groups page. The list will be maintained by the Groups Secretary who will be responsible for approving applications whilst ensuring, where possible, they cover a variety of different activities.
