Treasurer

Elmbridge u3a is seeking a new Treasurer to join our friendly and supportive committee. After many years of dedicated service, our current Treasurer is stepping down and will leave the role in October this year, creating a wonderful opportunity for someone to take on this vital position. You don’t need to be a financial expert—just organised, reliable, and happy working as part of a team, with plenty of handover and support provided. If you’d like to play a key role in helping Elmbridge u3a continue to thrive and support our many groups and activities, we’d love to hear from you.

Royal Swan Upping on the River Thames

The talk given on Royal Swan Upping lasts for about 45 minutes with a 15-minute question and answer session at the end.  It is illustrated with photographs and covers the history of the event, the boats used, the Royal connection and the ecology of the mute swan.

Jazz Band

Sadly the Elmbridge u3a Jazz band recently lost their beloved Tony, its pianist and founder.  The band plays a range of jazz mainstream tunes, largely from the 40s and 50s. If you are a pianist with a portable keyboard and amplifier and you’d like to join us, we’d love to hear from you. The pianist should be able to support the band and play solos. Our gigs, are mainly at community centres, care homes and add-hoc special events. The band rehearses during a weekday morning in East Molesey and most gigs are day time events.

London's Burning

As well as visiting the site of the fire, this tour visits inside the Cathedral to learn the rich and colourful history of its construction, its survival and its special place in the nation’s heart.  We will break to buy lunch close to St Paul’s.  In the afternoon we will tour the City of London and hear tales of the remarkable rebirth of ‘the square mile’ following the ravages of fire and war.
